4 REASONS WHY ROBINS IS BETTER THAN A HOTEL
There are many advantages of staying at Robins Place including:
More Space and Comfort
Robin’s place has been built for life in the tropics, well appointed open living and dining areas looking out into a tropical garden paradise, Most bedrooms have their own private bathroom. The space and comfort of the villas make your stay more enjoyable as you are not confined to the standard dog box hotel room that contain a bed, TV and small bathroom and not much else.
Personalised Service
From the moment you arrive you will enjoy the friendly welcome of the domestic staff. They will help you experience the Bali culture first hand and will take care of the gardens, pool, cleaning, laundry, shopping and all those mundane tasks you go on holidays to escape. The staff have their own separate accommodation on the property and infact they are hardly visible, but are there if you need them.
Privacy
Who wants to go on a holiday to fight over deck chairs around the hotel pool or to stay awake listening to noises in the next room. The exclusive use of your own Villa is an experience that everyone deserves to experience once in their lives.
It Will Cost Less.
Suprisingly a stay at Robins Place will cost less than the $80 - $200 US per room that good hotels charge in Bali.
Hotel transfers, limited minibar, breakfast, laundry even water are included in the “Robins Place” tariff but will be an added extra in any Hotel room charge. To top it off Hotels don’t allow self catering in rooms and Charge a massive 21% Goods and Services Tax on everything. Robins Place averages US $70 per double bedroom and all the advantages are thrown in for free.

Other Points of Interest
· Your manager is Nyoman Robi and he lives in the complex down the drive to Robins Place.
· The beach can be accessed by walking down the laneway and walking through the Jayakarta Hotel grounds. Occassionally a guard may ask you to walk the long way around but most are okay.
The Beach
· The local Legian Beach is patrolled and a really good beach for surfing & swimming just be careful of rips. At first you will be hassled by beach sellers for watches, hats, cheap jewellery or a massage. The beach locals are honest, friendly people. Don’t get frustrated enjoy the experience and have a joke with them. They are just trying to earn a living. Negotiate a set rate for lounges, boogie boards etc. 20,000Rph for each use of these ie; 2-3 hours is a good starting point and then use this rate for the rest of your holiday as once a deal is negotiated you don’t have to re-negotiate each time if you use the same hirer.
Transport
· If you require daily transport please go to Bemo corner just near the gates of the Jayakarta. Prices will vary according to the season and how busy the drivers are but approx rates are as follows.
150,000-250,000 IDR for half day.
250,000-350,000 IDR for full day (all inclusive for anywhere you wish to go.)
Once you have used the services of a driver they like to form a
business relationship with you and have you use them anytime you need transport. This also saves a lot of time in bargining.
When travelling locally the blue taxis are metered, cheap and don’t require negotiation on price (Make sure to ask to put the the meter on).
Eating Out
· Within walking distance of Robins Place are numerous restaurants, nightclubs and shops check out the restaurant guide attached to this information sheet for some recommended eat outs.
Money Changing
· Be careful of changing money on the street. The official money changer on the left side of jalan werkudura going towards Legian Rd (300 metres from intersection, red & yellow signs) is legitimate. An ATM machine which will operate if you have a visa card with a PIN is located around the corner at the start of jln Werkudara.
· Please settle your account with Robi in either US or Australian dollars in cash.
· Let your housekeeper know when your flight leaves on the final day. She will help organise transport at your cost (allow 2 1/2 hours).
(taxi costs approx R25,000)

Security
Our villas have been built Bali style with open plan living to the gardens. Consequently although there is security it is wise to take simple precautions. Lock valuables in the lockable filing cabinet or safe when out, and at night advise security when you are going out and when you are likely to return. Bali is not a dangerous place by any circumstances but common sense precautions should be observed when travelling abroad.
Babysitting
You can ask the girls if they mind babysitting the girls. They will tell you how much per hour.
Massage
Citi will probably come around and ask if you want a massage. Negotiate a rate directly with her.
Internet Use
Any questions, problems or concerns please contact: cmcevoy@preschem.com immediately and he will get back to you promptly. We have good reliable internet cafes at the start of the laneway (opposite Jayakarta Hotel) and at the back gate.
Tipping
It is best to tip at the end of your stay. Any staff that have helped you during your stay can be tipped. A recommended guide for your housekeeper is 100,000Rph but it is really at your discretion.
Please sign our visitors book, comments and suggestions are most welcome.
We hope you enjoy your stay at “Robins Place” and please tell your friends about our tropical oasis.
